Full of high-energy, melody, wild-eyed passion, the suite includes four virtuosic pieces. The Gigue is a rollicking dance full of hand-over-hand bumps and shocks. Dog Star is a mercurial, sometimes flickering, sometimes thunderous wild ride. Half Light is full of gorgeous searching melody and strange tonality. And the final piece, Devil’s Gate, is a paean to a mischievous youthful spirit of running around on Halloween, with thumping tunes and massive builds on the keyboard.
